Description

Up for auction/sale is a vintage Wonderwall (36"W x 24"T) poster which was produced by Dedeaux Publishing in 1983 to honor Charles Moore's contribution to the New Orleans 1984 World's Fair. After nearly two hours of looking on Google and Bing, I was unable to locate any other examples of this poster, so I'd say this is a fairly rare offering.
The poster is on light paper in very good condition (no bends, creases, or stains) and looks beautiful when displayed, but there is some mild waviness in the lower center part of the poster (see reverse image), but almost all of this is pressed flat when behind glass and matting (and not readily noticeable). I think the waviness is due to the weight of the paper in comparison to it's size, the bond should have been a little heavier (might be why you can't find these!!!)
There are also a few rough spots along the outer most areas of the poster, but again all of this is behind the matting. Lastly, there is one very small red stain (see pictures), which I ran my finger over but it's in the paper (not on the paper) perhaps from the manufacturing process.
On the reverse, the poster is mounted to the mat board with a strip of acid-free tape along the top and a few inches down on the side. The tape has not browned and is still flexible, but could be easily trimmed to allow for a mat change/re-framing in capable hands.
I have described this poster as best I can, but to augment my description I have provided many high-resolution images of the poster to include close-ups and an image capture of the detail printer along the bottom right of the poster. I also included a photo I found with a few details about the Wonderwall and Charles Moore, (For Reference only)
It reads: "For information contact Dedeaux publishing, ### Rue Dauphine, Post Office Box #####, New Orleans, Louisiana ##### (###)###-####, Published by Dealle Corporation, Metairie, Louisiana, Copyright 1983 Dedeaux Publishing Incorporated."
This will be shipped flat using its original aluminum frame and additional matting and cardboard to best ensure this very rare find arrives as pictured and described.
