Here is an OFFICIAL Uniform Badge Sash that was used by a Girl Scout from the 1940s.  It has lots of official pieces including a lovely Square First Class Insignia Patch.  The badges are all official from 1948.

The average sash size is 25 to 27 inches on the longest size.  However ....
a sash can easily fit anyone
by taking out the stitches (or cutting) the diagonal bottom edge.   All you have to do is pin it to the front and back of your outfit at the hip or wherever it may reach.
