    Description:
A nice very fine Banknote from Angola on the west coast of Africa. This is the Republic of Portugal issued note for the province of Angola. It is the two and a half Angolares dated 14 August 1926. The note is purple in color and depicts the portrait of Paulo Dias de Novaes, the first governor of Portuguese Angola, within an oval at the bottom left of the front. There are palm trees to the right of the front with grasses in between. The front has the denomination, the serial number, the date of issue, and two signatures. The back of the note has the same color scheme as the front with the name of the issuing authority on top and the image of a black rhinoceros in the center flanked by the denomination. The note appears to have been cleaned and flattened. However, it is still in good condition with slightly faded details. This particular note has the serial number Z057210, which is shown twice in black on the front. A very rare note in any condition worthy of a spot in your collection.
